The objectives of the SAGSPC are:
-
To promote the ethical care ,treatment, and breeding of the German Shorthaired Pointer, and to strive to enhance the breed's natural qualities through philosophy, education, training, and activities.

To support the breed standard of the AKC as the standard of excellence by which German Shorthaired Pointers shall be judged.
-
To encourage interest in the breed by exemplary, sportsmanlike conduct at all competitive events.

To conduct all licensed/sanctioned events (i.e.Conformation, Obedience, and Field) under the rules, regulations, and guidelines of the AKC, or the appropriate " Registry ".

To encourage an atmosphere of friendship, congeniality and support among SAGSPC members and members of other Pointing Breed Clubs.
-
To welcome other local pointing breed owners to become members of the SAGSPC.
